Abstract. The article reveals the gender discourse of women’s participation in modern politics on the example of public authorities in Germany. The article analyzes the current trends of political science in terms of the participation and role of women in the political process, public policy and management. The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze the features of the gender factor in modern European politics using the example of Germany. The research methods were dialectical methods of cognition, synthesis and analysis, sociological and structural-functional analysis. The study provides statistical indicators that record the growth and influence of women in representative government bodies — the parliaments of Germany at the federal, land, and local levels, the proportion of women in the land tags — parliaments of the lands of Germany, the proportion of women in the federal parliament — the Bundestag of Germany by belonging to a political party. It is stated that the results of a sociological study among leading German politicians (N = 818) demonstrate a desire to change and improve the political system, occupy a specific political topic and a political niche in the political sphere of Germany. According to the results of the study, the conclusion is formulated that the possibilities of gender factors are far from exhausted, the personnel reserve and political activism of many parties consists mainly of women. An important result of the study is the analysis of the directions of political activity of the party and state administration apparatus, the promotion of women in the political and power vertical of government. The article states not only the importance of institutionalizing the gender aspect of consolidating the proportionality of women’s representation among the political cohort of the elite, but also the acceptance by society of the importance of the gender factor in modern politics. The article highlights the factors influencing the promotion of women in party politics, such as: political activity, the promotion of political ideas, support for current political leaders, organizational support for political actions of party groups and factions in representative authorities.
