Basic scenarios for the revival and development of single-industry towns in Russia

Abstract. The issue raised in the scientific article «Basic scenarios for the revival and development of single-industry towns in Russia» is relevant and topical, is a short but sufficient question for understanding and debate, corresponds to the direction of research in the specialty «Political institutions, processes and technologies». This work has a descriptive character, in which the author summarizes the current state of the current state of affairs in Russian single-industry towns, clarifies the categories of the conceptual apparatus, describes both new and already established views on the subject under study, as well as existing concepts (both international and domestic) on reintegration and development of single-industry towns. The researcher’s personal position regarding the phenomenon under study is expressed, scientific tasks are formulated for further disclosure of the raised research topic. An attempt has been made to generalize the current state of the phenomenon under consideration and to offer original conclusions that reflect an individual approach and the author’s position in relation to the analyzed process. The researcher’s own vision is formulated regarding the further development of the discussion raised, the manuscript is distinguished by simplicity and clarity in the presentation of a personal position. The conclusions drawn and the proposals formulated in the work will help to compare the picture of the object of study under study in the future, which will help the author to further define the tasks and develop tools for conducting quantitative and qualitative empirical research on the subject of his dissertation work.
