Abstract. The main conceptual apparatus used in this article is world order, G20, G7, BRICS, multilateralism.

The author notes that the general increase in geopolitical tension and the number of armed conflicts in the world indicate the need to transform the geopolitical world order. Ideally, this process should be carried out gradually, taking into account the numerous challenges and threats of our time, common to all humanity, exclusively on a collective basis and based on generally accepted principles and norms of international law. At the same time, the UN with its Security Council — as the living embodiment of universal multilateralism — should remain the key platform for combining such efforts. And the G20, which unites both BRICS members and leading developing countries, as well as members of the G7 Western states, is also called upon to make its contribution.

In conclusion of the article, the author concluded that the Westerners are not particularly successful in turning around, and in recent years, countries with emerging markets, BRICS plus, have seriously strengthened and have felt a taste for independence.

Keywords: group of twenty; BRICS; political processes; political transformation; UN; G20; G7
