In foreign and domestic military-political literature, this concept has not only been used for quite a long time, but has also significantly expanded the range of scientific and practical ideas about it. At the heart of all the approaches proposed in the specialized literature is the idea of how hybrid warfare can use the already existing arsenal of forms and methods of conventional warfare. In this regard, the presented article is of rather great scientific interest due to the fact that the author has attempted to analyze the acceptability to real hybrid confrontations, those forms of military confrontation that were described by military classics of previous centuries. The author proceeds from the fact that in hybrid wars there is also a division into offensive and defense. However, in the context of hybrid warfare, defense as such cannot have a positive effect. This is due to the fact that defense is able to solve only private (tactical) tasks, provided that it can be considered strategically as a defeat. For the defense is only able to \u00abstop\u00bb the offensive and, if it is not replaced by a counteroffensive, the enemy will repeat his attempts at attacks. Based on this thesis, the author of the article suggests considering defensive actions in a hybrid war only from the position of counterattacking concepts.
