This is a specific form of confrontation that must be considered in the context of military-political confrontations between the Russian Federation and the united West (primarily the United States). The author notes that, unlike traditional warfare, this kind of confrontation is associated with risks that, in their content, may differ significantly from those that are characteristic of traditional forms of confrontation. In the generally accepted sense, the confrontation between states is permanent, which determines its nature. The resolution of interstate contradictions is associated with a large number of different risks. In particular, the analysis of domestic and foreign approaches to understanding the essence of hybrid warfare has identified the most likely risks in the context of its conduct. To conduct the necessary qualitative assessment, they were grouped according to the mechanism of their action. In the article, possible risks are presented in the form of five \u00abNOTs\u00bb, each of which was illustrated with precedents from Russian and foreign history. Knowledge and understanding of the possible risks in a hybrid war makes it possible to give an objective assessment of those social, economic, political and military actions of other states that can damage the protected interests of the country.
