Socio-political stability: on the issue of the balance of ideologies

Abstract. The theme of ideology in politics has never lost its relevance, however, the existing conceptual apparatus has a very weak applied functionality. In this connection, the authors conducted a study of publications in this area to identify the most functional relationships. Having considered them under the prism of discovering the opposition of ideas, a kind of mirror image, as well as describing their extreme positions, paired categories were identified. Found paired ideas and ideologies are designated as interrelated, allowing to balance each other. At the same time, the extreme degrees of each of the elements are designated as destructive. The scope of the search was quite wide, for example, the relationship between the presence of constitutional provisions that allow not to limit the ideology of the state and the presence of ideological political parties in the state. And also predicted the consequences of the lack of balance in this plane on the example of the collapse of the USSR. The topic of confrontation between a conservative approach in politics and an innovative approach that at first glance gives absolute advantages is touched upon. The authors could not ignore neo-liberalism with its enforcement of permissiveness, socialism with Chinese characteristics and nationalism with its unfading reference to the roots in all matters. The theme of the long-known paired category called «rights and duties» is touched upon, where an infinite increase in duties is guaranteed to lead to a loss of motivation for a person squeezed into the themes of rules. In the course of the research, the need for a balance of ideologies was identified as a tool that creates conditions for the greatest efficiency in the development of society and the individual.
