Abstract. The issues raised in the scientific article «Values in the structure of civic identity: concept and tools» are relevant due to the fact that each person is guided in life by their own values, and the value orientations of society determine joint actions and perspectives, serve as a unifying factor for people. The article corresponds to the direction of research in the specialty 5.5.2 «Political institutions, processes, technologies». The article is devoted to the study of values in the structure of civic identity. The authors summarize the current state of the chosen object of study, clarify the categories of the conceptual apparatus, describe both new and already established views on the subject under study. The importance of strengthening civic identity as a factor ensuring the unity and perspective of the state is discussed. The aim of the study is to study and identify values in the structure of civic identity, as well as to study and identify tools for constructing these elements. An attempt has been made to generalize the current state of the phenomenon under consideration and to offer original conclusions that reflect an individual approach and the author’s position in relation to the analyzed process. The study used methods of secondary analysis of publications of Russian and foreign professional researchers, content analysis. The source base for the study was scientific publications, regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, media materials, competitive design documentation of all-Russian project competitions, as well as projects of the Rosmolodezh website. In the course of the study, the authors determined that the project activity itself can act as a tool for constructing civic identity. The conclusions drawn in the work of the proposal will help the author in the future when conducting quantitative and qualitative empirical research on the subject of his dissertation work.
