Abstract. The problem of the study is that the theoretical calculations considered in the work are insufficient for analyzing the nature of social conflicts in universities.

The relevance of the study is to: make the study of student conflicts more practically oriented; substantiate and prove the feasibility of the idea of systematizing this type of social conflicts; to highlight the most significant aspects of the phenomenon of university conflict (in particular, in the student environment) and to understand how its different types (forms, kinds) influence the conflicting parties themselves, the local student body, the student and educational environment of the university as a whole.

The purpose of the work is to, thanks to the specified systematization, not only describe the diversity of conflicts in the student environment, but to study their causes, dynamics, possible consequences much more deeply and fully, and most importantly, to build an adequate strategy and tactics for the prevention and successful resolution of conflict situations in the student environment of Russian universities.

Organization and methods of work: to solve the tasks set, two pilot specific sociological studies were conducted using document analysis methods and expert surveys in focus groups, as well as the main descriptive specific sociological study in the format of an online survey. Based on the processing of various primary and secondary sociological information, interpretation of the obtained sociological data, correlation of sociological indicators placed in the analytical reports of all planned in this work and conducted specific sociological studies — it is possible, in particular, to draw conclusions, one of them: conflicts arising in the educational environment can be associated with both personal and social factors, including differences in cultural values, lack of communication and stressful environment.
